Volunteers
Agility trials require many dedicated volunteers to help organize and run weekend agility trials for their clubs. The many jobs they perform include:
- Gate Steward Manages the overall operation of a course and the running order of the dogs. In large trials, an optional Ring Coordinator may be required.
- Timekeeper - times the runs using a stop watch or automated timers.
- Ring Crew - Usually 3 volunteers replace or raise/lower jump bars, straighten the push tunnel and change the course between regular and special classes by raising or lowering the A-Frame and table and changing spread or double jumps.
- Leash Runner - Moves the leash from the start to the end of the course.
- Scribe - Marks the faults or accumulated points and elapsed time on a scribe sheet for each dog.
- Sheet Runner - Takes the scribe sheets to data entry.
