2010 Regionals
Aggregate ResultsThanks to Flo Tellier and the Crocus Obedience and Kennel Club for a great job of organizing and running the 2010 AAC Regional Championships in Brandon. The Dogs of Course group did us proud! Every team out there had some brilliant moments, and every team out there looked like it belonged there whether they qualified or not!
We would like to congratulate the following teams for qualifying for the trip to 2010 AAC Nationals at Spruce Meadows this August
- Alice Gaucher with Dot, Emma and Rudy – What a powerhouse group Alice has!
- Jason Good with Jackie and TJ - Another powerhouse
- Leanna Rusanov and Lucy — Amazing team that just keeps on running and winning!
- Kathy Chorney and Neutron — Another chance for Neutron to woo-hoo at the top of the frame at a Nationals Diane Mapes with Rugby and Cricket— You just can’t “outgamble” Rugby (talk about understanding the “line”) and to see Cricket (at 10 yrs old) healthy and come out of her retirement from 2007 and run like she’d never taken a break was amazing. I don’t think I’ve seen Diane “glow” like that ever!
- Don Lawrence and Julie — Still one of the prettiest jumpers teams I know to watch!
- Mark Laroque with Sis and Chloe — Great job with both your youngster and your vet. You are always a thrill to watch out there. I especially enjoyed seeing Chloe running with enthusiasm!
And we had several teams qualify for their first ever Nationals as a team:
- Janice Archdekin and Trixie — Where’d those weave poles come from? Your little border collie with the scraggly tail did you proud!!!
- Jennifer Gareau and Zoe — Wow! And the one course on Sunday where Zoe started doing her “occasional” shut down thing, Jen got right in there and worked with her and got her back and running!!!
- Lorna Clarke and Sadie — Just the icing on the cake to follow a tremendous year of constant improvements and achievements for Sadie.
- Sue Nadon and Max — Again, icing on the cake because this team has been growing, improving & achieving every time they are out there!
- Helena Klomp and Dirk — One of my training partners — on a personal basis, what a thrill it was to see you qualify! You obviously listen to Diane’s instructions better than I do.
Also, congratulations go out to a couple of SAA teams who float into our classes from time-to-time:
- Cathy Kudryk and Spyder — Again, can be one of the smoothest teams running when it all comes together for them! And it did this weekend!
- Susan Bonner and Shadow — Shadow has gone from being hesitant and slow to running with confidence and drive. This last year has been one of tremendous improvements for these 2 as a team capped off by a great performance at the Regionals.
As for the rest of us who went to the competition, we’ve come home without qualifying but with lots of good memories of the competition and the fellowship. Many congratulations to the rest of our crew who competed:
- Susan McIntyre and Lance (who was happy to be out and working and had great moments)
- Heather Fitzsimmons and Salsa (who is one heck of a dog and gave us a lot of thrills watching her)
- Don and Spydr (who had to be pulled due to injury from when she crashed that jump at Mut Hut 2 weeks ago)
- Janice with Bella and Brisa (again—some wonderful runs with both girls — Janice now knows that you can’t do 2 items in the gamble back-to-back)
- Delores and Buddy (he’s always exciting out on course)
- Gillian and Gambit (for both of them, their first regionals and he was attempting the tire!)
- Jackie and Bear (he keeps improving every year & this year was no exception!)
- Donna and Brogan who did wonderfully considering how sick Donna was the whole competition!
